HOP PELLETS - TYPE 90
Purpose Provision of bitterness and hop character by replacement of hops in the kettle.
Composition Milled hops compressed into cylindrical pellets of 6mm dia. Hop Pellets Type 90 retain the aroma and bittering potential of the hops from which they are made. See Hop Variety Data Sheets on our website. The pellets may be of a single hop variety or a blend of varieties, as required.
Use As a direct replacement of cone hops in the kettle. For efficient provision of bitterness, the pellets should be added to the wort at the beginning of the boil. Aroma varieties can be added late in the boil to achieve the maximum contribution to hop character
Packaging Sealed under vacuum or inert gas in food grade, metallised, laminated pouches in cardboard cartons. Normal nett weights available are 5kg, 10kg & 20kg packs.
Storage Preferably, stored at 5°C or less to minimise loss of bitterness and aroma potential. Once opened, packs should be used as quickly as possible.
