IKE
Isomerised kettle extract
Purpose More efficient provision of bitterness and hop character by replacement of hops, pellets or extract in the kettle.
Composition Carbon dioxide extracted soft resins and essential oil of hops.
IKE - contains iso-alpha-acids in the form of the free acids. IKE retains the aroma potential of the hops from which it is made. See Hop Variety Data Sheets on our website.
Use As a replacement of cone hops, pellets or extract in the kettle. Expect an improvement of approximately 50% in utilisation over that of pellets or extract. Because the alpha-acids are already isomerised, high bitterness utilisation will be achieved almost irrespective of the time of addition, allowing flexibility in the control of hop aroma.
Packaging Normally in 200Kg steel drums. Other sizes and packaging by weight of iso-alpha-acids available.
Storage Store in unopened containers at a temperature of 25°C or less.
