Oil Rich CO2 Extract
Purpose The convenient and consistent alternative to 'dry hopping' for provision of hop aroma and flavour to beer post fermentation.
Composition Emulsion made from oil rich CO2 extract and containing essential oil of hop and soft resins in aqueous emulsion with food grade emulsifiers. Oil content is standardised to 2,500ppm (0.25%) by volume, while the soft resin content is dependent upon variety The emulsions convey the characteristic aroma and flavour of the hops from which they are prepared. See the Hop Variety data Sheets on our website.
Use The addition of 40 to 80 ml emulsion per hectolitre of beer corresponds to 1 to 2 ppm oil. The emulsion is preferably metered into the beer stream before or after conditioning but before final filtration. Alternatively, the emulsion may be added directly to the cask during filling and before the addition of finings.
