Composition Tetrahydroiso-alpha-acids 9% w/w in aqueous alkaline solution determined by HPLC.
Use Tetrahop Gold® may be added, without prior dilution, directly to beer. For light-stable beers packaged in clear or green glass bottles, all the bitterness must be derived from Tetrahop Gold® and/or Redihop®. The addition can be made either before or after conditioning but before the final filtration and, preferably, by metered injection into the beer stream during transfer. Local high concentrations of tetrahydroiso-alpha-acids should be avoided and the addition point should be well separated from that of any other additives.
For foam enhancement, only about 3 to 6 sensory bitterness units as tetrahydroiso-alpha-acids should suffice. This should be added as described above. The kettle bittering must be reduced to allow for the bitterness of the Tetrahop Gold®. For further details and usage calculations, please see the Tetrahop Gold® document on the Barth Haas Group Website: Technical Specification.
Packaging Normally available from Botanix in high-density polythene containers of 20 kg.
Storage Store in full, closed containers at 15° to 25°C. At temperatures close to freezing point, Tetrahop Gold® will separate into two layers which must be recombined before use by warming to between 50° and 60°C. Prolonged storage at high temperature will cause deterioration.
