PHA® AROMA PRODUCTS - OVERVIEW
This product range has been developed using sophisticated extraction technology to isolate the naturally occurring aroma compounds present in the hop that are so important to beer flavour and aroma. PHA® products are designed to be added to bright beer and since they are fully soluble, the utilisation is 100%. PHA® offer a convenient means of adding hop aroma, independently of any other product.
PHA® are completely soluble in beer and are intended for addition to fined or filtered beers. The required amount of PHA® may be metered directly into the beer stream during transfer to bright beer tank or other appropriate vessel. A usage rate of approximately 10 ml per hectolitre is suggested, according to the desired intensity of aroma. Sample kits to allow rapid product development are available from Botanix, as well as taste profiling information.
The PHA® range has two main components. PHA® Generics and PHA® Varietals are formulated to affect both aroma and flavour, whereas the PHA® Topnotes range has been specially developed to have its major impact on beverage aroma.

PHA® Varietal products are derived from a single hop variety and impart the Late Hopped characteristics of that variety to the beer. PHA® Varietal Topnotes are also derived from single hop varieties but are designed to deliver Dry Hop character to beer.
PHA® Generic products have been developed to enhance specific hop characteristics such as “citrussy”, “floral”, “herbal” or “spicy”. The PHA® Sylvan product is particularly useful in low alcohol beers.
